Binding

Binding is the half of the trade we keep in the shop, so a stack of printed sheets leaves here as something that opens flat and stays together.

• Saddle stitch — folded sheets stapled through the spine. Used for thin booklets, programmes and price lists.
• Perfect binding — a squared spine with a glued cover. For directories, manuals and longer reports.
• Case binding — hard boards under cloth or paper, sewn in sections. For registers and anything meant to be kept.
• Wiro and spiral — wire or plastic comb. Opens flat, and is what we use for notebooks and working copies.

Bringing work to us

1. Send the details. Email what you need printed, the size, the number of copies, and how many colours.
2. We send a proof. You read and mark the proof before anything is printed. Nothing runs until you approve it.
3. The run. Printed, trimmed and, if it is a book, bound and pressed in the shop.
4. Collection. Finished work is packed flat and held until you collect it.
